Whales are such beautiful animals. Yet these animals have become an endangered species over the years as a result of whaling. If whale hunting is not banned or at least controlled then the whale species will entirely disappear from our earth. This would mean the collapse of the whole marine ecosystems, as many are top predators so the fish and invertebrates they prey on would become overpopulated. We have come to a new era where whale products are not exactly needed anymore. Products made from whales included: oil lamp, cosmetics and of course for consumption. Since electricity was discovered, cosmetics could be made without the use of whale fat, and as we raise our own livestock on a commercial scale for meat, there is now no need to hunt whales.
Imagine being in Japan at the ocean on a beautiful spring day. You see all the wonderful creatures popping up from the water. Suddenly, you hear horrible cries of a harmless whale, being slaughtered and exploited by whale hunters. Take a moment and think about what that whale may be feeling. Think about why the hunters are harming it. This is called whaling, where the whales are hunted, speared, shot, and killed for their meat. It is time to stop the unnecessary destruction of whales, so that they do not remain only as skeletons in museums.
